Why Do We Need Water? – {Drinking clean water, what do you care?}

why do we need water

Why do we need water?

I was watching youtube today, it was a video about something random, some guy saying how much money I could make in an hour….bla bla bla…. I was just about to switch off when the next video appeared about the water crisis in the World and I thought to my self go on I will give this a watch. It blew me away and I thought to myself it is time to do some good with my website, no one needs to go thirsty anymore as long as we are all helping.

(Note 100% of all donations from this page go to charitywater.org)

This interview blew me away (watch it below) and I realized that I need to do more in this life, and help those who need it most.

In this youtube video, you will find the founder and CEO of this charity Mr Scott Harrision speaking openly and with passion. His organization charitywater.org is trying to change the world by their actions.

He completely changed and turned his life around, and founded one of the biggest charities in the world from nothing but a will and desire to help others.

Giving hope to millions where there is none.

The charity is looking for ways to bring Clean Drinking water for all!

Take a moment to think about how your life would look if you had no clean drinking water?

We take the simple stuff for granted without even a moment’s thought. I have been guilty of this many times.

After watching this interview, it left me thinking about our basic human needs and how fortunate most of us are, we just simply turn on a tap and fill the glass. We run a bath or shower, we water the garden.

It’s a good life and so comfortable right!

What if none of that was available to you?

You simply had no water or if you did it was unclean and dirty full of bugs and disease.

Would you still want to drink it or wash in it?

Millions upon millions of people have no choice this is just their way of life.

Next, I asked the question how can I as one person do more to help change these people’s lives?

I guess in some ways just like charitywater.org did when they started out.

That is why I have started a charity fundraising page for them and am writing this blog. I decided to raise awareness for them and see if I could help in my own small way.

The work they do is selfless and inspiring.

Let’s look into more detail at the work charitywater.org does and how you can help.

What is CharityWater.org?

Their mission statement says it all:

Mission Statement

Many of us have no idea what it’s like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink — even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury.

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I’m looking for anyone who can help me.

Please donate to my campaign — anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

It is a known fact that the majority of people living in rural areas spend hours upon hours walking for water. They do this to collect water for their family.

This seemingly basic act has devastating effects as it keeps children out of school and takes up parent’s time, which could be used to earn money, but the worst part is the water they bring back is full of disease and makes everyone that drinks it sick.

What would happen if this act could be eliminated and access to clean water was available to them?

Clean water means education, income, and health – especially for women and children.

Health
Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
In Africa alone, women spend 40 billion hours a year walking for water.
Access to clean water gives communities more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school — all of which fight poverty.
Education

Clean water helps keep kids in school, especially girls.
Less time collecting water means more time in class. Clean water and proper toilets at school means teenage girls don’t have to stay home for a week out of every month.

Women Empowerment
Women are responsible for 72% of the water collected in Sub-Saharan Africa.
When a community gets water, women, and girls get their lives back. They start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their own futures.

The work they do!
Water projects funded 5,679
29 countries operating in
11,427,324 people served
Work with experienced local authorities who build sustainable community-owned water-based projects

Let’s end this World’s Crisis Together!

The aim of charitywater.org now it to keep finding ways to make freshwater sustainable and available to as many people as the can. They are always being inventive and innovative with the ways they do this. You can check out there GPS tracking systems and photos on their website for full details.

As basic as it seems, it actually encompasses the very basic of everything that we need in our body system and actually I appreciate you for writing this here. I have seen a lot of people saying that it is not worth it and should be ddiscarded that water is water. But to me, it goes beyond all these here. thanks you for sharing here

Thank you for the kind message. Yes without this basic need for water we would all be in serious trouble. Imagine your world without it or worse with it but it’s full of disease and you still have to drink and wash in it. I found that thought really tough so that is why I am doing my best to help in my own way. Thank you for your donation. please take care and stay safe.
